Which obviously is the date 11th December 2013, twice, for both the reverse system (month first) and the logical one (day first), also the date the counter is counting down to. (Didn't notice this was already mentioned in the quote before, sorry.)

The latest message recently appeared on the Survivor2299.com teaser website, only a few short hours ago:

Again – Reddit to the rescue – the code was almost immediately cracked. The code was quickly broken using Vigenère deciphering techniques and, according to Redditor Whitelunick, is reported to read as follows:

 

“The Quabbin Reservoir is seven zero four two two nine nine.”

The reference to the Quabbin Reservoir would seem to support prior speculation, which posited the next installment of Fallout to take place in Boston. It’s suggested that the numbers, 7042299 could refer to a date of some sort – possibly 07/04/2299. Again, this would fit the chronology of the series; Fallout 3 took place in the 2270s, whereas Fallout: New Vegas commenced in the 2280s.

 

The Quabbin Reservoir is a real-life body of water, described as one of the largest, man-made public water supplies in the United States and, when at maximum capacity, holds 412 billion gallons of water. The reservoir is located in Massachusetts and is currently the main supply of water for Boston.
