The latest rumors from Apple's supply chain claim the company plans to launch two larger versions of its best selling products in 2014: A jumbo-sized iPhone in May, and a larger 12.9-inch iPad in October.

The details were reported on Monday by DigiTimes, which cited its usual sources from Apple's suppliers in the Far East. The publication claims that Apple's anticipated 12.9-inch iPad will target the educational market in North America.

According to the report, Quanta Computer will manufacture the larger iPad. Apple is said to have been considering panel sizes of 12.9 inches or 13.3 inches, and is most likely to adopt the smaller screen size.

In addition, a larger iPhone using a 20-nanometer processor is also rumored to launch in May of 2014, according to the report. That phone's chip will reportedly run a processor designed by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.

The 12.9-inch screen size has been rumored for a future, bigger iPad on multiple occasions, though some reports have pegged such a device for an earlier launch in 2014. Apple's interest in a bigger iPad is said to be driven by the fact that tablets are continuously replacing traditional notebook PCs in the consumer market.

Such reports are not limited to overseas publications, as The Wall Street Journal reported in July that Apple was toying with larger screen sizes on its best selling devices. Specifically, it said that Apple had built a prototype iPad with a screen size slightly less than 13 inches diagonally, putting it in a class with a MacBook display.

As for a larger iPhone, rumors have suggested Apple is toying with a design with a 4.9-inch displaythat the company could debut in 2014. Apple previously increased the size of the iPhone screen in 2012, when the iPhone 5 debuted with a 4-inch screen.

Noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities said in September that Apple is planning to launch a handset with a screen sized between 4.5 and 5 inches in 2014. According to Kuo, anything larger than 5 inches is unlikely, due to the company's Unwavering principle of one-hand use."

So-called big-screen "phablets" have become increasingly popular in recent years, with Samsung leading the way in terms of selection. The Korean firm's Galaxy Note III features a 5.7-inch display, while the Galaxy Mega comes close to being a small tablet with a 6.3-inch screen.

nuovo rumors ....

When Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone 4 in 2010, Apple began focusing heavily on the device’s camera as an area for continuous improvement and promotion. That device featured a 5 MP backside camera, and the next three models (iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s) featured an 8 MP iSight camera with various improvements along the way.

That pixel count may not change according to a report from The China Post (viaMacRumors) which cites financial group Nomura Securities and falling shares of Largen Precision Company.

"According to Nomura Securities (野村證券), Largan’s recently lagging performance in the market is caused by rumors that Apple may adopt an 8 mega-pixel (MP) camera with improved optical image stabilization on its upcoming handset, instead of the 16 MP upgrade anticipated by industry observers."

While the report leaves room to speculate a minor bump in pixel count could see the light of day, it’s not too farfetched to believe Apple’s successor to the iPhone 5s could resist increasing pixel count in favor of further improving optical performance with low light and high dynamic range capturing…

If Apple follows pattern and redesigns the next generation iPhone as expected (iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 6), saving spec sheet increases like pixel counts could be reserved for an iPhone 6s device with the same design but internal improvements.

And while we’re knee deep in the weeds with speculation, let us know what you think. How long can Apple resist increasing the megapixel rating on its iSight camera before it starts looking outdated? How many more tricks like burst mode and slow-mo could Apple have up its sleeve before it decides megapixel count needs increasing?

nuovo rumors

Apple is preparing to release not one, but two new versions of the iPhone in September, according to the South China Morning Post. Each version will ship with a larger display than the iPhone 5s, coming in at a whopping 4.7″ and 5.5″, respectively. The displays are said to have a pixel density of 441ppi, much higher than the current 326ppi found in the iPhone 5 and later.

The report also states that both displays will be made from sapphire crystal, which fits with recent reports that Apple is planning to have its latest sapphire plant in Mesa, AZoperational in February for a “critical” product component. The displays will also be flat, not curved, the Post says.

Finally, the report indicates that the iPhone 5c will be removed from the lineup when the iPhone 6 is released, while the 5s will stick around but be made from cheaper materials.

Mi sono sempre piaciuti gli iPhone, ma li ho dovuti abbandonare per i problemi noti alla batteria.

Love them or hate them, rumors will never cease. With the next big thing just around the corner and everyone doing their best to second guess what the big thing to come out of the likes of Appleand Samsung will be, speculation and conjecture will always be on the tip of the internet’s collective tongue. Unfortunately it doesn’t always get it right.

The latest to take a stab at dusting off the old crystal ball is blogger Sonny Dickson. Known for both his pinpoint accuracy and wild inaccuracy in equal measure, Dickson has now set his sights on what Apple will bring to market with the unannounced but nailed-on to be released, iPhone 6. If Apple’s is going to stick to its own unofficial release cycle then we’d expect an announcement around early September time, and Dickson claims to have the inside scoop on what it will feature.

iPhone-6.jpg

The first claim, shared with the world via his Twitter stream, centers around the iPhone 6′s physical size. More specifically, it’s thickness. With the current iPhone 5s sitting at a rather slim 0.30-inches thick, Dickson claims that the iPhone 6 will shrink that down to an impressive 0.22-inches. Presumably the next step will be to just make the thing flexible.

sdD.png

Beyond the thickness, Dickson also thinks that the new iPhone will feature an -Ultra-Retina screen, which would apparently mean a pixels-per-inch number of 389. There’s no word whether that increase in pixel density would be accompanied by a larger screen though, and that’s arguably the thing most are looking for from Apple this time around.

Following on from those two tweets Sonny Dickson then turned his sights to the iPhone 6′s innards, with the existing iPhone 5s CPU set to be replaced by one considerably faster. The current model’s A7 chip ticks along nicely at 1.7GHz, but according to the tweet we should expect the A8 found in the iPhone 6 to clock in at 2.6GHz. That’s a lot of power to try and keep cool, let along actually keep juiced. We’re not at all convinced by that one especially.

We’ve still got quite a way to go before Apple tells us what it has up its sleeve, but with the leaks set to only increase over time, we’ll hopefully start to hear rumors that either corroborate or disprove Dickson’s claims.
