Annunciato all'E3 come uno dei franchise in sviluppo per 3DS, assieme ad altri tre titoli per un totale iniziale di 4 produzioni made in Tecmo-Koei:

Appare oggi un'intervista nella quale si intuisce che, con Doa e Samurai Warriors al lancio, dovremo aspettare un po' per vedere le prime novità in merito a Ninja Gaiden.
