The Wii U version will include WiiPad enhancements, including touchscreen item management. All versions will have online leaderboards. Chronicles of Mystara will be released in June.
During a panel at PAX East, Capcom confirmed plans to port its two Dungeons & Dragons games for release on Wii U eShop, Steam, PSN, and XBLA as "Chronicles of Mystara." The collection comprises 1993's Tower of Doom and 1996's Shadow Over Mystara, both beloved four-player arcade fantasy brawlers set in D&D's Mystara world.
The only previous home release for these games was on the Saturn in 1999, which limited the games to two players, and further limited the games to being played by people who owned a Saturn.
The new version integrates a challenge system, and includes drop-in, drop-out online multiplayer using GGPO. A new "house rules" system will let you change the mechanics, turning it into a time attack or losing money instead of health when damaged, for example.
