Producer: Level 5
Developer: Level 5/Grasshopper/Vivarium
Releases: 31 maggio 2012 (jap)
Info varie:

Level-5's Guild 01 includes four unrelated games, among them Crimson Shroud, which comes from Tactics series creator Yasumi Matsuno. In addition to being the most highly anticipated, Crimson Shroud is also the most mysterious of the four games, but Famitsu does provide a few details this week, along with first game screens.

As one would expect of a Matsuno game, Crimson Shroud is a table RPG. However, the success of your moves is determined, at least in part, by dice roles. The magazine doesn't get too specific on the battle system beyond this.

The game also has a story component. This is presented in the form of a text-style adventure.

Guild 01 is due for 3DS release this year.

nuove info su Crimson Shroud, il titolo di Matsuno:

Citazione
I was waiting to see if Famitsu would put the article online with new screens, but they didn't, so I'll just post this anyway. In the magazine itself, there's a new preview on the game which goes into detail about the format of the game, some of the gameplay, and basically what to expect from the game, since they showed off the first screens in the previous update.

- The story of the game is set in a middle ages fantasy era, where magic has existed in the world for a thousand years. But this is not a world where magic naturally exists, instead the back story of the world revolves around "Gyfts" which people believe to be given by the gods. Magic in not something which people learn and master in this world, but rather used by harnessing these objects known as Gyfts. It is said that magic first came into this world through the "Original Gyft" a thousand year ago, a Gyft with the power to copy and replicate magic. Since then, Gyfts have spread throughout the world, each Gyft can be harnessed to use a specific type of magic.

- The main character Giauque is a Chaser in his late 20s. Chasers are bounty hunters who are paid to track down objects or people. He possesses keen insight and sharp judgement, which helps him his job and he is well respected by his peers. Based on his mannerisms, it is believed by some that he is of noble upbringing and is a cultured person.

- Frea is one of the party members in the game, and her knowledge of Gyfts is a driving point in the adventure. The prologue shows Frea getting injured, but how and why she is in that position is something players will find out in the game itself through a flashbacks.

- The main game is about Giauque receiving a dangerous task to investigate the truth behind the "Crimson Shroud" which is the proper name for the Original Gyft. This mission brings him to the Palace of Rahab, the site of an ancient ruin. This is what brings his party members together, and the setting of the entire game.

- The gameplay is a mix of text adventure and dungeon exploration. There will be set locations around the Palace of Rahab which will initiate event scenes or battles when explored. The event scenes are presented like a text adventure, and there will also be choices the player can make along the way. There will also be multiple endings. After finishing the game once, some choices which were not previously available will become available when the game is played again.

- The battle system is a menu based combat system where players pick from commands to execute. Sometimes, when executing a certain command in battle, you will be required to roll a set of die to determine your success. Matsuno says that initially he wanted to make every single command dice driven to simulate the feel of a table top RPG, but that created pacing problems in the game was wasn't very fun. Since then he has toned down the frequency of the dice roll requirements, and balanced it out.

- The game is not expected to be very long, but rather replayable. As for the feel of the game itself, Matsuno says that the game can be compared to taking out all the climatic events and the final dungeon in a big RPG, and making an entire game focused around that. A short story which starts from the climax of a larger tale.

The identity of Yasumi Matsuno's first project as a Level-5 employee has been revealed in this week's Famitsu. The 3DS title is called Guild 01, and it's due in 2012.

Matsuno, who's known for the Ogre series and Final Fantasy XII, isn't the only big name involved with the game. Grasshopper Manufacture's Suda 51 is working on it as well. So is Vivarium's Yoot Saito (Seaman).

There are actually four games in Guild 01, each made by a different creator. Famitsu provides the following details:

Kaiho Shojo
A 3D shooting game from Suda 51. You take control of a robot known as "Kaihoki" (literally "liberation machine") and blast away at demon beasts. The game has animation from Bones.

altre info:

We already detailed Suda 51's contribution to Level-5's new 3DS title Guild 01. Here are some details on the three other games that make up the compilation.

Air Porter

Yoot Saito is making Air Porter, whose catch phrase is "Check your luggage on time." Yes, this the airport luggage management simulation we've all been waiting for.

You play as the head of an airport and must handle the luggage that passes through. Your goal is to keep planes departing on time.

The game encourages smart management by rewarding you with combos. When you make a plane take off on time, this leads to a plane being able to land on time, resulting in a combo.

Perform your job well, and your airport rating will grow. You'll get more passengers, and more money as a result, and you'll be able to purchase new planes and parts and expand your airport grounds. Eventually, you may even be asked to handle an arrival and departure from Air Force One. Do this successfully, and you'll get the highest rating.

Rental Bukiya de Omasse

This RPG is from comedian Yoshiyuki Hirai. You play as the father and son pair who run weapon shop -- the same kind of weapon shop you'd find in an RPG. You'll have to make weapons and rent them out to adventurers.

Different from most RPGs, where the hero is the one choosing the weapons, in Rental Bukiya, weapon selection is left to you. Your decisions could effect the result of your clients' adventures.

To aid in your business, you have access to a tool called "Donai Natter." This communication device shows messages indicating if the adventurer has successfully achieved his goal, so you'll know if you'll get your rental gear back. The device also indicates when the local bakery is having a sale, for instance.

Famitsu doesn't say why Yoshiyuki Hirai is developing a game alongside veteran developers like Suda 51, Yoot Saito and Yasumi Matsuno. In fact, it appears that Hirai actually applied to work at a game company once but was rejected.

Crimson Shroud

This is Yasumi Matsuno's contribution to the project. Based off the text of the game's prologue, it looks like you play as a "Chaser," someone who's skilled at finding people. The prologue also mentions the "Crimson Shroud" of the title, but does not say what it is.

The prologue also hints that the game is set 1,000 years in the past in a world without magic. The game's story will apparently tell how magic became commonplace in the world.

Hideo Minaba is listed as the game's illustrator. Minaba's involvement in the project came to light when Matsuno announced that he was joining Level-5 earlier this year.

Crimson Shroud viene descritto da Matsuno così: "a simpler and more compact adaptation of a table top RPG". Uhm
