Sony's PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console and remains the top platform year-to-date, but Microsoft and Nintendo also saw their sales increase. Year-over-year, Xbox One made almost twice and the Switch sold more than 50 percent. Nintendo also sold the most consoles with its NES Classic.

Nintendo won big as the months top publisher, even without The NPD Group tracking digital sales from its eShop. When Mario Tennis Aces debuted on June 22, it instantly set a record as Nintendos best-selling tennis game in terms of first-month sales and climbed to No. 1 on Junes best-sellers chart.

Nintendo Switch was the only platform that produced software sales growth in June, with dollar sales more than doubling those of June 2017, said Piscatella. Year-to-date software sales on Nintendo Switch are also more than double those of a year ago.

Beh, dai, dalle 170.000 di aprile è un bel balzo e comunque sono dati da console "di successo". Anche perché la line up di questi primi sei mesi è praticamente inesistente mentre altrove sono usciti fior di gioconi pesanti dal punto di vista commerciale.

 

Diciamo che, se Nintendo riesce a viaggiare fra le 200.000 e le 300.000 console in USA da qui all'ultimo trimestre dell'anno, quando usciranno i giochi che faranno DAVVERO vendere la console (Pokemon e Smash in primis), potrà verosimilmente centrare l'obiettivo dei 20 milioni di console entro il 31 marzo.

 

Anche perché in Giappone oramai si è assestata sulle 40-50.000 console a settimana (che fa circa 200.000 console al mese). Europa come al solito non pervenuta ma dai dati frammentari e imprecisi che arrivano sembra che il ritmo delle vendite sia sempre considerevole.

Dopo mesi passati a criticare la line up Q1 e Q2 2018 di Nintendo e' interessante ragionare sul passaggio qui sopra.

questo è il Q1. credo sia normale (?) che ci sia stato un aumento YOY per il semplice fatto che switch il Q1 dell'anno scorso era appena uscita, ci stavano 4 giochi in croce in giro e aveva un istallato molto più piccolo.

Il commento che ho riportato riguarda unicamente il mese di Giugno negli USA.

 

Io volevo far notare che nonostante le critiche (anche corrette) alla lineup Q1 e Q2 di Switch il software sta comunque continuando a vendere bene. Certo, stanno campando di rendita con quanto uscito nel 2017 (Odyssey, BOTW, MK8D, ecc....) ma i numeri stanno ancora dalla loro parte.
