■ Skills

Skills

Skills are attack techniques that can be used by characters for each formation. You can use skills by equipping items that grant skills or learning a skill itself.

By equipping an item that grants a skill, you will be able to use that skill. The more you battle and win, the more experience points that equipped item will gain, and when you meet a certain value, you will be able to learn that skill and set it without having the item equipped.

Skills granted by the “Wooden Sword” include:

• Area Edge – Deals physical damage to all enemies.
• Mytra – Deals unattributed magic damage to all enemies.
• Drain Edge – Deals physical damage to one enemies and recovers five percent of maximum HP.

Skill Set

In order to use skills in battle, it is necessary to set them in advance. The skills you can set vary depending on the formation.

• (1) Selected Character (the character whose skills you wish to modify) – You can switch between characters with the L1 and R1 buttons.
• (2) Formation
• (3) Skills set for the chosen character
• (4) Skills that can be used in each formation
• (5) Skill details

The skills that can be set for each formation have already been decided.

■ Abilities

Abilities

Abilities can be used to power-up and support characters. Abilities are attached to equipment (weapons, armor, and accessories), and can be set by mastering that equipment or learning the ability.

—Some Examples of Abilities

• HP Bonus – Increases maximum HP by 10 percent.
• Darkness Prevention – Prevents darkness (which lowers your accuracy rate).
• Auto-Wall – Produces a wall at the start of battle (increases defense against physical attacks).

Ability Set

By spending “Ability Points,” you can set abilities. Ability Points will return to you when you remove an ability. Your Ability Points will increase as you level up.

By equipping an item that grants an ability, you can set that ability. The more you battle and win, the more experience points that equipped item will gain, and when you meet a certain value, you will be able to learn that ability and set it without having the item equipped.

Purple Heart (voiced by Rie Tanaka)

The CPU of Planeptune, which was once a near-future city. She is the central character of the four CPUs, but lost her power as the result of a coup caused by the Frin-led Silkworm. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

 

Black Heart (voiced by Asami Imai)

The CPU of Lastation, which was once an industrial city. She is one of the four CPUs. Although the hardest working among them, she was defeated in a battle against Firin and now her whereabouts are unknown.

 

White Heart (voiced by Kana Asumi)

The CPU of Lowee, which once prospered as a magic nation. She is one of the four CPUs. Though said to have the strongest defense power, she was Firin broke through and defeated her. Her whereabouts after are unknown.

 

Green Heart (voiced by Rina Satou)

The CPU of Leanbox, which once prospered as a naturally abundant city. She is one of the four CPUs. She was defeated in battle against Firin, who does not share her overwhelming love for games. Her whereabouts after are unknown.

 

Purupuru

A rare, furry dragon. He seems to be flying around in search of something.

 

■ System

◆ Attributes

Skills have attributes that affect damage dealt to enemies and damage received by the party. There are nine attributes:

—Fire

—Ice

—Earth

—Wind

—Water

—Thunder

—Light

—Dark

—Physical

There are also three properties tied to enemies and equipment. They are:

—Weak

—Absorb

—Resist

The following screenshot shows that the current equipment is Weak to the Water attribute and Absorbs the Darkness attribute:

The next screenshot shows that the target enemy is weak to the Fire and Water attribute, Resists the Earth attribute, and Absorbs the Dark attribute:

If you do not use the proper attributes against enemies, you will not be able to deal damage, or you may even end up healing them. In addition to seting skills that guarantee the enemy will not Absorb your attacks, the damage you receive will also change depending on what attributes enemies attack with.

 

◆ Buffs and Debuffs

Buffs

Buffs raise your party member’s stats. The effects of a buff differ and expire after a fixed period of time depending on the skill, item, or ability.

—Grants resistance against a specific attribute.

—Absorbs damage dealt by a specific attribute.

—Increases defense power against the Physical attribute.

—Increases defense power against magic.

—Increases the accumulation speed of the AP Gauge.

—Gradually restores HP.

—Increases evasion rate.

Debuffs

Debuffs lower the stats of party members or weaken target enemies. The effects of a ebuff differ and expire after a fixed period of time depending on the skill, item, or ability. You can also cancel the effect of a debuff by using an item or skill.

—Stop: Stops the AP Gauge.

—Bind: Disables Formation change.

—Clock Down: Lowers the AP Gauge accumulation speed.

—Virus: The Goddess Gauge does not accumulate.

—Stun: Disables action.

—Corrode: When the countdown reaches zero, the targeted character will no longer be able to battle.

—Poison: Gradually reduces HP.

—Darkness: Lowers accuracy rate.

—Forget: All skills turn into normal attacks.

—Spiritless: The Break Gauge does not accumulate.

◆ Goddess Transformation

When the Goddess Gauge accumulates, you can transform into a Goddess by pressing the R2 button and the face button assigned to the character of your choice. The Goddess Gauge accumulates as you receive attacks from enemies in battle.

By transforming into a Goddess, that character’s stats will also increase.

 

◆ Break Gauge

Break Gauge

By dealing damage to enemies, your Break Gauge will increase. You can use a Break Attack once one bar of gauge is filled. The Break Gauge has a maximum of four bars and resets for each battle.

Break Attack

By building up your Break Gauge to a certain amount, you can use a special move called a “Break Attack.” A Break Attack can be activated by pressing the L3 button and the corresponding face button of the character who you want to use the attack.

◆ Magic Gems / Magic Gem Switches

Magic Gems / Magic Gem Switches

In towns and dungeons, “Magic Gems” and “Magic Gem Switches” are scattered about. By touching a Magic Gem, you can obtain it, and by examining a Magic Gem Switch, a challenge will begin.

 

Magic Gem Challenge

By examining a Magic Gem Switch, a Magic Gem will appear and a “challenge” will begin. If you obtain all of the Magic Gems within the time limit, you will clear the challenge and obtain a Magic Gem.

If you go over the time limit, the Magic Gems will disappear and you will fail the challenge. If you are unable to clear a challenge, you can always just try it again.

The Magic Gems you collect can be exchanged for equipment at NPCs in dungeons, so be sure to keep an eye out for them.

 

◆ Quests

Quests

You can receive Quests by talking to the NPCs in towns and dungeons.

In (1) in the the above example, the “!” mark indicates that you can talk to the NPC to receive a Quest. In (2) the star mark indicates that a Quest is already in progress. Since you might complete the Quest as you are playing through the story, there is no harm in accepting the Quests you pass by.

Since Quests have no effect on the story, you are free to take them on at your own pace. You cannot cancel a Quest once accepted.

 

Quest Menu

You can see which Quests and Hunt Quests you have accepted in the Quest menu.

• (1) The list of accepted Quests
• (2) Indicates whether or not a Quest is active – By choosing a Quest, you can set it to “Active,” and a check mark will appear. You can only have one Quest active at a time.
• (3) Quest type (subjugation)
• (4) Quest type (fetch / delivery)
• (5) Quest objective
• (6) Reward
• (7) Where to go

If a Quest is set to active, the Quest objective can be displayed.

You can pull up and hide the navigation that displays the Quest objective with the R2 button.

 

◆ Hunt Quests

Hunt Quests

Each town has a Guild where you can take on Hunt Quests. Upon accepting a Hunt Quest, the target monster will appear in a dungeon. Depending on the monster, it may be lurking in an area not displayed on the dungeon map.

• (1) Reward – The reward you will receive for defeating the monster.
• (2) Target Monster – The monster you need to defeat.
• (3) Where to Find It – The name of the dungeon where the monster will appear.

There are Hunt Quests recommended for players from Levels 5 and 100, but if you are confident and have the skill for it, you can take on a Hunt Quest regardless of level. Also, defeating the target monster will earn you experience points and drops.

Provato un po'. Sembra abbastanza a basso budget, con alcuni problemi imbarazzanti (vedi un certo lag nella gestione dell'interfaccia). Le animazioni sono cosi' cosi' e anche se il sistema ricorda molto quello di Valkyrie Profile non e' pero', a quel che ricordi, cosi' veloce come l'ispiratore.

Super Neptunia RPG will launch for PC via Steam on June 20, and PlayStation 4 and Switch on June 25 in North America and June 28 in Europe, publisher Idea Factory International announced.
