Thalassea

Thalassea, a water country ruled by the beautiful Queen Homedias. It is said to be a country of strict law enforcement and control, and whose people are constantly monitored by the “Eye of the Queen” that projects from the sea.

 

Celius

“The prosperity of this kingdom is a result of the power of Her Majesty the Queen.”

A close associate of Queen Homedias of Thalassea. He is frighteningly sharp, but is no match for the Queen, who ends up stomping on him with high heels. He is cold enough to make extremely “strategic” judgments.

 

Homedias

“Why would the populace gather for an inexperience man like yourself?

The beautiful queen that rules over Thalassea. She keeps the people in order with various strict laws, but keeps the country at peace through the skills of Celius. There is a major secret known only by the Queen and Celius, which is connected to the reason she imposes such strict laws.

 

Capstan Upon Hull

Capstan Upon Hull is a small port town that makes a living off the shipbuilding business. There seem to be skilled shipbuilders here. However, the town has few people and an unusual atmosphere. It seems that some sort of accident occurred here.

“The ‘Divine Boddly National Archive’ does not allow first time customers. Please go home.”

Age unknown. Director of the Goldpaw National Archives. As someone who has been handed down the history of Ni no Kuni, she is said to be a living history book, and tells Evan and company of “The Legend of Brahavan.”

 

■ Kingmakers

Brineskimmer, a Kingmaker

The Kingmaker of Thalassea. At the bottom of the sea, there is a king’s cradle that rarely manifests. Brineskimmer can swim around freely in the sea, and specializes in water and ice attacks. It is accompanied by a servant called “Odis, the Sea God,” who also possesses great power.

 

■ Kingdom Mode

Estavania, the Country Established by Evan

 

Expand your territory, construct buildings, and put talented individuals to work!

Weapon and armor production workshops, magic research establishments, shops… by constructing buildings and putting talented individuals to work within them, you can produce the items and abilities necessary for Evan’s journey.

 

Assemble talented individuals from the world of Ni no Kuni!

A country is defined by its people. As a country gets bigger, its people multiply, and as its people multiply, the country gets bigger. In order to increase your country’s power, it is necessary to gain the trust of the people as king and give everyone the thought, “I want to live in Estavania.” Scouting talented individuals will contribute significantly to the development of your country.

 

■ Skirmishes

In Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, there are “skirmishes” different from your usual adventure during which it is necessary to advance as a country and as an army against enemies and monsters.

During a skirmish, the entire field becomes the battlefield.

 

Rotate Between Four Units!

A strategic brawl! Units have affinities. Controlling the better army class is the key to victory. Rotate your units and respond to the challenge of the approaching enemies!

 

Turn the Tables!

Each commanding officer has their own tactics. Make skillful use of these tactics to win the battle.

The World of Ni no Kuni

 

◆ Thalassea

(Catch up on our previous coverage of Thalassea here.)

—Thalassea is an extremely beautiful town surrounded by water, but the citizens are always under the watch of the “Eye of the Queen.” Its temperature is high, but it is surprisingly easy to live easy to live because of the clear weather. There are many restricted actions under the thorough reign of Queen Homedias. For that reason, problems themselves are unlikely to occur. There are some who question the politics of the queen, but the high consul subdues any such resistance on the spot, “solving” the peoples’ dissatisfaction each time.

 

◆ Broadleaf

Broadleaf is a corporate giant country. Originally, it was a small country with dense forests, but with the innovative inventions of President Musaka, it developed into a rare science power in the world of Ni no Kuni. There is a sky-high company office building tower known as the “Intelligence Big Tree,” where all of the country’s functions are consolidated.

“If the Magical Fusion Reactor is completed, the world will change. And then I will rule this world.”

An inventor who grew Broadleaf from a small company into a corporate giant country over the span of several decades. He is ambitious and has an inquiring mind, but is not bound by religion or moral value. He is forcing the people to complete his “Magical Fusion Reactor” without concern for their sacrifices. There are frequent protests by those that oppose his system.

—The land where Broadleaf was founded is a place where many high energy materials called “Magic Ores” lie dormant. Musaka’s innovative inventions made it possible to use the energy of Magic Ores, leading the country to develop into a major power. However, the reduction of Magic Ores has become a problem, and the development of a new energy is a pressing matter.

A Great Variety of Styles

Each character has their own unique battle style, and can trifle with and overwhelm enemies through varied combat. You can also instantly switch between playable party characters in battle in response to the state of the battle.

Balmodine, a Kingmaker

The Kingmaker of Broadleaf. He is determined and inquisitive, and is more interested in his own growth than being a good Kingmaker. Some of the armaments on his back were created by himself, and some were given to him by Musaka.

 

◆ Kingdom Mode

By bringing new talented individuals and technology into the kingdom established by Evan, you can gain various benefits that will be useful on your adventure and in battle. By assigning the right people to the right places, you can develop your kingdom with greater efficiency.

In order to develop the kingdom you build, you will manage not only the castle, but also various facilities and talented individuals outside the castle, and commit to the kingdom’s development. You can move forward on your journey with a greater advantage by developing the kingdom, so be sure to build a kingdom all your own.

• Step 1: Use Kingdom Gold (KG) to construct facilities.
• Step 2: Assign the talented individuals you scouted to the proper facilities.
• Step 3: Move forward with research at your facilities. You can acquire new magic and manufacture new weapons.

By repeating this cycle, the kingdom’s power will rise, and Evan’s country of Estavania will significantly develop.

 

Step 1: Use Kingdom Gold (KG) to construct facilities.

—Use Kingdom Gold (KG) to construct facilities like weapon workshops and magic research labs.

—Farms are among the various other facilities you can construct.

—Shopping facilities include restaurants, variety shops, and more. These will acts as reassuring support for your adventure.

 

Step 2: Assign the talented individuals you scouted to the proper facilities.

Talented individuals have parameters called “Development Power,” which includes “Military,” “Technology,” “Spirit,” and “Magic,” as well as fields of expertise. Scout a lot of talented individuals and place them in the facilities that suit them best.

Batu has high “Military Development Power.” Assign him to the weapons workshop!

—Leander

Leander has high “Magic Development Power.” Assign him to the magic research lab!

 

Step 3: Move forward with research at your facilities.

Once talented individuals are in place, research can begin. Increase the weapons that can be created by doing research at the weapons workshop, and the magic that can be acquired by doing research at the magic research lab.

Through the construction of facilities, repeated research, and the development of the country, the townscape will gradually change. Developing the kingdom will become more and more advantageous to your adventure.

 

◆ Other Elements

Leaf Book

“Leaf Book” is the social media platform of Ni no Kuni, where the world’s inhabitants post photographs as they please. Since there may be valuable information posted, be sure to check it every so often.

 

Higgledie Almanac

Higgledies are “spirits of hearts” that can only be seen by individuals with pure hearts. The “Higgledie Almanac” lets you see the profiles of all the unique Higgledies that you collect.

 

Costume Change

In addition to their standard costumes, each character has different costumes. There may also be nostalgic costumes among them.
