Capcom has released the fourth and final video in its series of Monster Hunter Stories “Riria Explains” trailers, this time introducing “Transmission Ritual” and multiplayer battles.

A Transmission Ritual is a special ritual in which the “Kizuna Gene” possessed by various Otomon is inherited by a base Otomon. This enables players to awaken the abilities and attributes ‘asleep’ in the base Otomon (fire, water, lightning, ice, etc.). For example, the ceremony can be used to awaken the fire attribute within a Lagombi. As for multiplayer, you can battle against other players locally or via the Internet, and chat with them using stamps. You can also customize your own Rider Card to be traded with other players through StreetPass.

Dai credits si è scoperto che lo sviluppatore è Marvelous, nello specifico la parte di AQI con cui la compagnia si era fusa qualche anno fa. Il director infatti è Ken Awata, che faceva parte di Artoon (quando ancora esisteva) ed era stato character model lead in Blue Dragon e animation lead in The Last Story.

A luglio in Giappone verrà rilasciata una versione aggiornata di MHS:

 

Capcom will release the version 1.2 update for Monster Hunter Stories in Japan on July 26, the company announced. A physical re-release of Monster Hunter Stories, called Monster Hunter Stories Ver. 1.2 Renewal Edition, will launch the following day on July 27 for 3,990 yen. 

 

The update includes the following new additions:

• Newly added Otomon (monsters) – Teostra, Kushala Daora, and Rajang have been added.
• Additional parts to customize your appearance and the ability to change your gender – You can change your gender at your house, allowing you to try out each gender’s armor. Customization parts that reflect the appearance of characters that appear in the game, as well as equipment that lets you change completely into them have also been added. Parts have also been added that allow you to change your appearance to look like Hakum Village Riders Jini, Hyoro, and Mil from the TV anime Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On.
• Otomon previously only available as downloadable content now obtainable at the “Monster Nest” after clearing the game – Oroshi Kirin, White Monoblos, Glavenus, and Molten Tigrex can be obtained.
• Monster Hunter XX Save Data Bonus – If you have save data from Monster Hunter XX on your 3DS, you will get a Barufaruku costume for Nabiru.

Users who purchase Monster Hunter Stories Ver. 1.2 Renewal Edition will receive a bonus of three Otomon as downloadable content, including Jini’s Kut-Ku, Mil’s Azure Rathalos, and Hyoro’s White Monoblos.

Provata la demo. Che dire... Graficamente è coloratissimo e adorabile, sicuramente me l'hanno venduto, visto che amo la serie. Sembra solo un "bel giochino", però, il battle system è qualcosa di veramente basilare. Ogni mostro ha le sue statistiche, resistenze, abilità, ma il tutto si riduce ib un gran sasso carta forbice. Mantenendo comunque lo stesso target avrebbero potuto sviluppare qualcosa di sicuramente più profondo.

Poi vabè, io ho provato solo la demo, chiaro.
