Gears of War Xbox One will take "some time", says Microsoft "I love the Gears franchise, I think Epic's done a really nice job building that."

Microsoft's E3 2013 presser may have been epic, but it wasn't quite Epic - the creators of Gears of War were conspicuous by their absence. Pushed for an explanation, the publisher's Phil Spencer has suggested that the franchise needs to "spend some time" away from the limelight, both for its own good and to make room for new IP.

"I love the Gears franchise, I think Epic's done a really nice job building that," Spencer commented. "I think there's an opportunity to spend some time on Gears and on what it means. It's a rare franchise that managed to ship four times on the platform - 1, 2, 3 and then Judgment.

  "I also think it's also a really interesting time to launch new IP, and that's something we're really invested in," he went on. "You saw Quantum Break, you saw Sunset Overdrive, you saw Crimson Dragon, you saw games big and small from many different developers.

"I think we were counting, and we had eight or nine different nationalities on stage. It's a cool opportunity to bring a lot of new content."

Epic and Gears of War made our list of prominent E3 no-shows earlier today. There's a rumour doing the rounds that the studio is working on a Gears of War Kinect game for next gen. What do you think?

Microsoft dice che Gears of Wars, è in pausa per un pò, sia per il bene del Marchio che per dare spazio a nuove IP.

Il problema è capire se epic sviluppi ancora in esclusiva con ms o no. Condivido la scelta di mettere in pausa gow, pero spero che allo stesso tempo stiano lavorando su una nuova ip per ms.

Vabbè io sono in lutto frega nulla dell'usato,posso digerire il check ogni 24 ore ma GOW 4 MS me lo devi fare no facciamo scherzi   .Inoltre dove cavolo è finita Epic completamente sparita da questo E3.

Anche io ma non sarebbe stato possibile...ricordati che i numeri di Halo sono molto diversi da quelli pursempre buoni di Gears.

Le Killer App servono al lancio di una console.

Speriamo solo che i 343,con tutta questa potenza di calcolo,non mi facciano un altro shooter su binario dato che questo giro il confronto con Bungie sara' diretto e,a giudicare da Destiny,anche alquanto spietato!

Gow 4 se lo giocano fra qualche annetto secondo me, è appena uscito judgment ed inoltre la serie ha un po stancato. Meglio prima una nuova ip no?

io spero solo che la epic continui a lavorare in stretto contatto con la microsoft...

non mi sembra che i loro rapporti siano dei più rosei ultimamente

Dopo la porcata di Gears of War Judgment era il minimo che potessero fare... Ci vogliono Ip nuove, non i soliti Brand... Sono d'accordo con Joh, sn proprio curioso di vedere Destiny
