have two things to say. First of all, as a consumer, I'm feeling irritated from the Academy bug discovered in the italian port of Mass Effect 3. But, as always, we're acting like a mass of unpleasant people. The argument that Bioware and EA are on the wrong side is a fact. Now, in our very interest, the only logic thing to do as already wrote by other forum members is to post every little detail that we can provide. Only after a solution was found we can ask for some kind of compensation. In fact, we Italian are the only people that continue pressing about the price of the game instead the fact that a piece of the story, small instead but still a piece of the whole story, will be compromised by this bug.
Just second thing to say, a "race condition" is not only applicable to read/write operation about disks or mass storage. As a programmer, the race condition is a "lock" of the system based of "something" expected to be available at some time, but instead not available or in use by another block of code. This cause the sistem to lock waiting for something that will probably never arrive. In our very case, I'm of the idea that some sort of state function, that evaluate our progress or some other state of the game, is not sending data to the loading process. I don't think is a media problem, because today discs can be verified using solely the burining hardware against the master ISO template. Instead of the hardware problem, some sort of data changed by localization that cannot fit inside some sort of variable and can cause the resource loading function to block and not return to the loading logic can occur. Also, a memory exception from a resource changed by localization can be the cause of the crash of the XBOX, because our console OS is not for debugging and I think it simply miss all the error handling and debugging libraries and parts of the kernel.
So, in a lot less words, we can still only post details and wait for the developers to do a patch for the game, and this can take a lot of time if there's a race condition or memory problems, because it take the developer to near do step-by-step software checks. And we have a lot of code steps here. Really a lot.

Yeah, we don't really need more details at this point, but thanks very much for all the help! I'll ask for more information if we need it.
Thanks!
