Apple is ready to sell up to three million iPhone 4's each month, leaks from within its component supply chain have revealed. The company has booked sufficient components to sell 9 million or more iPhone 4 handsets each quarter.
That’s according to Asia Optical's chairman Robert Lai, who says his company is supplying about three million of the new iPhone's front-facing VGA cameras every month. That would meet the "100,000 activations/day" rate that Google says it is achieving with Android.
Lai also told us he has been supplying such quantities since manufacturing began in May, according to a report on Digitimes.
Compare this with the 7.4 million iPhone 3GS sales the company achieved across summer 2009 subsequent to the launch of that model.
These quantities also mean Apple is in position to meet demand, should it rise to the much-anticipated 24 million units across 2010.
spero presto in Italia
