update: Ivan Reitman sarà il producer di G3 ... e molto probabilmente anche il regista (ma non è ancora sicuro al 100%)

I've been sitting on this news for a few days now as I can't seem to figure out what's new at this point. So I figured I'd just throw it out there and see how it goes. Why not, right? Anyways, I have straight up confirmed, 100%, without a shadow of a doubt that Ivan Reitman, director of Ghost Busters and Ghostbusters II, is in fact attached to get behind the camera for Ghostbusters 3. While he's attached, the word is that he hasn't decided whether or not he really wants to direct, yet. So, yeah, is that news? But here's a little something else we conjured up. Apparently, the sequel takes place when the paranormal researchers "reopen" their ghost removal service after it has been closed for quite a few years. As previously reported, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver have all confirmed their involvement (in various interviews on the web).

Tsè,presenza femminili? Io ci piazzerei giusto una segretaria nuova al posto della mitica Janine...per il resto voglio Stiller,Wilson,Black e Downey Jr come nuovi acchiappafantasmi.

Harold Ramis recently caught up with Heeb Magazine where he updated the status of Ghostbusters 3. According to the director/producer/actor, we could be seeing the new team of ectoplasm hunters as soon as 2011. "Something’s going to happen," Ramis told Heeb. "Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We’ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future ... GB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011." Sigourney Weaver has been throwing curveballs as of late, but if there were one person to trust, it would be Ramis.
