• Odysseia, the Sky City – A legendary sky city that, according to myth, appears in the skies above the continent in the world of the virtual reality MMORPG “World’s Odyssey” once every 2,000 years. The game is set 2,000 years after the myth, when many people have become Adventurers and are traveling the world in pursuit of the legend. After being infested with bugs, Odysseia has collapsed, but its wreckage still remains afloat.
• Adventurers – According to the lore of “World’s Odyssey,” Adventurers are those who believed in the existence of the sky city when no one else did, and traveled the world in pursuit of it. In doing so, they made various discoveries and achievements, and their contribution to the world’s development led to the societal recognition of their occupation. The original plan was for the player to become one of those Adventurers.

■ Characters
Al Astra (voiced by ???)

A bright and energetic, novice Adventurer NPC. As an NPC, she has emotions and consciousness that should not be possible. When she was hungry and dying, she was saved by Shina Ninomiya and became her companion.
Clea Glaive (voiced by ???)

She is supposed to be an NPC of “World’s Odyssey,” but has a heart and becomes a companion of Shina and company. Since she was originally a peddler who sold various goods, she approached the group. While she is not someone you want to make an enemy of, she is extremely reliable as long as she is in a position to benefit.
Celica Clayton (voiced by ???)

An young NPC with tremendous talent, famous as an Adventurer closest to reaching Odysseia, the legendary sky city sought after by Adventurers. She has a heart, and meets Shina and company on her journey alone in pursuit of Odysseia, which continued even after the world was infected with bugs. She is the charismatic presence of the Adventurers.

Entoma

The bugs that have broken out in the world of the MMORPG “World’s Odyssey” have materialized as entity-possessing “bugs.” These “bugs” leech onto everything, from characters to monsters and so on, and eat into the mind and body in order to consume and drain who they leeched. The inhabitants of the world of “World’s Odyssey” have named these terrible creatures “Entoma” and fear them.

 

Bugoo

Shina and company are special beings that can control Entoma. However, they themselves do not know why they are able to control Entoma. The Entoma controlled by them appear in the form of small fairies that Shina named “Bugoo.”

 

Martyrs

Monsters originally existed in the world of “World’s Odyssey,” but the the leeching of Entoma have atrociously transformed them into abnormal creatures.

L'engine che usano è lo stesso di VIIR, per la cronaca, e non è UE4 (che non hanno mai utilizzato direttamente), ma un particolare engine di Silicon Studio.

Alice Code

“Alice Code” is a game engine developed by “Agur Company,” a global IT corporation. It is able to project the senses into virtual reality, and has astounding specifications found only in science fiction. It is also equipped with an artificial intelligence engine by which assigning non-player characters a simple profile make them capable of independent thought, enabling natural conversation with players. Its ability to create more realistic worlds was a big talking point when it was initially released, and game companies all over the world have picked up the engine for their own game development.

 

Engima Co.

The game development company where Shina Ninomiya and Arata Mizunashi work. While it does not have many employees, it is made up of a small number of exceptional talent that are professionals in each department. The studio’s main work consists of development for publisher companies, but with the release of the “Alice Code” game engine, it plans on the development of its own title called “World’s Odyssey.”

 

Sagami (City)

Located a short distance from the heart of the city, recent urban developments have led Sagami to become a cluster for the leading IT industries in Japan. Enigma, the game development company where Arata Mizunashi works, is located here. Due to its sudden urban developments, a typical residential area is also filling out a short distance from Sagami. And in this city, several rumors about a horrific “urban legend” have recently begun to spread…

Sumika Tokiwa (voiced by ???)

Arata and Shina’s co-worker, and a programmer on a different development team from “World’s Odyssey.” In “World’s Odyssey,” Sumika learns that Shiina, who she treated like a younger sister, is imprisoned, and decides to help. She also has a side to her that is crazy for the occult.

 

Lydia Nolan (voiced by ???)

A foreign woman and character designer. She is quite the otaku and wears flashy clothes. In addition to character design for games suitable for all ages, she also works on otome games and adult games. She lives faithfully in her desires and has no shame. She and Shina are the same age and were good friends.

◆ System Basics

Basic Battle Controls

Death end re;Quest uses a turn-based command battle system.

Three party members can participate in battle, and you can switch out the characters in the rear (the reserve) during battle.

The turn order is decided based on each character’s speed.

When a character’s turn arrives, they can move freely around the field, cooperate with an ally, attack from outside of the enemy’s attack range, and more to advantageously proceed the battle.

Basic commands include:

• Command – Select to use a “Tri-Act,” which enables you to select three actions.
• Action – Select to use a “Command Set” configured before battle.
• Change – Select to switch out with the characters set in the reserve.
• Search – Select to view enemy and “Field Bug” status information.

Tri-Act

The “Tri-Act” system enables players to use three actions in one turn.

In addition to basic actions such as “attack,” “item,” and “guard,” you can freely select from many “skills” as well.

For example, by selecting “‘attack,’ ‘guard,’ and ‘guard’,” while you will attack, since you selected “guard” twice, they can be used at the same time with a greater effect than normal, enabling you to perform even greater strategic actions in a single turn.

 

Knock Bug System

By setting skills with a “Knock Bug” effect in the Tri-Act in “Action” or “Command,” you can blow back the enemy.

By triggering a Knock Bug, in addition to dealing additional damage to the enemy, you can blast away the “bugs” that are parasitizing the field and hitting you with negative effects.

Also, if you blow away an enemy and they hit another enemy, the enemies that collide will receive additional damage. If the enemy instead collides with an ally, the ally will reciprocate by hitting back with a “Knock Blow.” Since Knock Blows have additional effects unique to each character, it will make the attack even more effective.

“Real Objects” are objects that exist in reality that Shina and company find in the game world, where they should not naturally exist. What are the meaning of these objects? By getting information from the objects you acquire, you will explore new mysteries, but even more mysteries and incidents will await beyond that.

A diary found in the game “World’s Odyssey,” which has been infested with bugs. The writing inside is of a frightening state, and a Japanese address is listed in the corner.

◆ Glitch Style

Take a Risk, Get Stronger by Cheating

When a character touches a field bug, or when they are hit by the enemy’s attacks, they will gradually be contaminated by bugs.

A character’s amount of bug contamination is represented as the “Contamination Level,” and as it rises, the character’s stats will gradually go mad.

And if a character’s Contamination Level reaches its maximum value, they will transform into their “Glitch Style,” which gives them cheat-class abilities. But this ability is a double-edged sword, as going beyond the maximum value makes them unable to act. This is also not a standard inability to act, as it adds a minus effect upon the character’s return to their normal state.

With the Glitch Style, you can acquire super powerful abilities, but it also comes with the burden of being a major risk on the character’s life.

Final Re:Quest Collaboration

Death end re;Quest will have a collaboration with Final Re:Quest, the work of Ichirou Kusaka, who is participating in the development of Death end re;Quest as a concept advisor. Details will be announced at the following event:

• Event Name: Final Final Re;Quest
• Time: Monday, October 30. Opens at 18:30 JST, starts at 19:00 JST. Pre-sale tickets cost 1,500 yen, day-of tickets cost 1,800 yen.
• Featuring: Ichirou Kusaka, Yohei Sato (Compile Heart), Kazuteru Maruyama (Compile Heart), and others
• Guests: MCU (Kick the Can Crew)
• Event Details: A collaboration is planned between the moving 8-bit fantasy Final Re:Quest and the new Compile Heart game Death end re;Quest. Ichirou Kusaka and the game development team will debut the first details about that collaboration. Also, this will probably be the last live talk for Final Re:Quest as it heads towards its climax. And special guests MCU (Kick the Can Crew) will also participate and debut the ending theme to Final Re:Quest.

Natsuo Munakata (voiced by ???)

A former employee of the company Agur. He is currently starting up a private business. Since he was the lead contact person for Enigma, which uses Agur’s Alice Code game engine, he is an acquaintance of Arata and cooperates with him.

 

Rin Asukaze (voiced by ???)

The secretary to the president of the Enigma company. She relays the intentions of the president in his stead, as he does not appear himself. Contrary to her appearance, she is quite old. She is generally shy and does not say more than necessary. She delivers messages from the president and so on, but for some reason when Arata is in a pinch, she gallantly appears to save him.

Obtain new skills in a “flash.”

The Flash Idea System is a system in which you can come up with another skill by combining specific techniques in the Tri-Act. An abundance of skills are being prepared for Death end re;Quest, but all of these skills can be learned through the Flash Idea System.

For example, even if you are of a low level, by clearing a specific combination, there is a chance you will learn a powerful skill. However, since powerful skills consume a lot of SP (Skill Points), if you are of a low level, there may be situations where you cannot use the skill because you do not have enough SP.

Explore different combinations of skills to learn every skill!
