■ The Unseen World
■ Catalysts
When synthesizing, you can earn bonuses by putting ingredients in a line within the panels and filling everything out. Additionally, by using a “Catalyst,” which is new in Atelier Firis, the panels expand, the effect of the line changes, and the synthesis changes in a big way.
—The Catalyst is selected prior to putting in the ingredients. Just like a normal line, the line should be filled entirely to earn a bonus.
—Depending on the Catalyst, the size and such of the panels will also change. You can earn various bonuses based on how valuable the Catalyst is.
■ Superdreadnought Synthesis
Superdreadnought Synthesis will have a major impact on Firis’ journey. Through this new type of synthesis, you’ll create items significant enough to change the field itself. Superdreadnought Synthesis will be your foothold to the unseen world.
—Here we have a field covered in ice. Firis won’t be able to move forward like this.
—Through Superdreadnought Synthesis, you can create an “Artificial Sun” said to melt everything it shines on, and use it to melt the ice on the field.
—The ice has melted and a new path has been created.
■ Requests With Varied Outcomes
Firis will be able to receive quests at various places during her journey. Some quests have more than one solution, and their outcome will change depending on how you choose to solve it. Sometimes your solution can even trigger another quest.
■ Chain Bursts
During battle, characters take action one at a time, but through cooperative “Chain Burst” attacks, you can take on enemies more advantageously.
—Before triggering a Chain Burst, first attack enemies and fill your gauge to its maximum amount.
—In Chain Burst mode, if your allies’ actions follow one after the other, a line will connect their icons on the right of the screen, and by inputting an action, a co-op attack will be triggered. A co-op attack will only occur for skills and items targeted at the enemy.
—Depending on the number of combined actions, your “Cooperation Rate” will increase, and you may deal greater damage as a bonus.
—Cooperation Rate is an important factor in Chain Bursts. When it exceeds a certain value, you can choose a character at the end of a co-op attack to perform a powerful and flashy final attack to deal even more damage.
—You can use co-op attacks in accordance with the order of actions for as long as your gauge lasts. Find the best combinations to gain the upper hand in battle.
