■ The Kings of the Seven Countries

As commanded by the old prophecy, the kings of the countries divided into seven nations by the ancient war built peace upon the suzerain state of Zebion over 1,000 years. Even in countries ruled by humans, coexistence and prosperity with monsters has been achieved without disrupting the peace. So then why are these rulers facing war? Let’s meet the rulers of each nation that hold the keys to this story.

Many tough monsters that have adapted to the harsh envionrment live in these countries, but monster kings of high intelligence rule these nations in peace.

The latest issue of Weekly Jump introduces a pair of giant monsters and the big four boss monsters set to appear in Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and the Prophecy’s End.

Atlas—a giant cyclops wearing a blue tunic and wielding a massive club—and Drakulard—a giant, hefty dragon—make up two of the titan-esque monsters set to appear in the game. Apparently, the two are going to face against each other, with Atlas being the monster on your side. (It looks like you control him, but not via a Monster Coin transformation.)

The big four boss monsters consist of Dhuran from Dragon Quest VI, as well Myushado, Hell Kaizer, and Pruslas.

■ Online Multiplayer Anywhere, With Anyone

DQH2_05-18-16_001.jpg

Dragon Quest Heroes II supports both cross-play and cross-save. Cross-play means that PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita users can enjoy online multiplayer together regardless of platform. Cross-save means that users can upload their save data to PlayStation Network for use with a different SKU of the game. (For example, PlayStation 4 save data can be transferred to PS Vita and vice-versa.) With these features, you could for example play multiplayer on the big screen with your PlayStation 4 at home, and then level-up on the game with your PS Vita.

■ Two Types of Multiplayer

DQH2_05-18-16_002.jpg

Multiplayer in Dragon Quest Heroes II consists of two options. Users can play cooperatively in “Story Battles,” or up to four players can take on the “Space-Time Labyrinth” dungeon where various enemies appear. (The Space-Time Labyrinth can also be played single-player.) During Story Battles, you can enlist the power of other players to get past difficult areas. And in the Space-Time Labyrinth, you can take on various formidable foes and obtain rewards when it’s cleared.

Story Battles

DQH2_05-18-16_003.jpg

In Story Battles, you can recruit help from friends. Your recruited friends will replace your party members. You can register up to three friends to your party before battle by talking to Rikka at Rikka’s Inn.

Space-Time Labyrinth

DQH2_05-18-16_004.jpg

To take on the Space-Time Labyrinth, you must have obtained the “Labyrinth Map” item, which you’ll receive by playing the story. The player with the map can unite up to three other players to take on the dungeon. You can also take on the Space-Time Labyrinth on your own and go with your AI party characters.

You can set “Often Used Phrases” and “Stamps” in advance of starting up multiplayer to communicate with other players.
