http://andriasang.com/con11y/sol_trigger_demo/Imageepoch has formally announced the Sol Trigger delay that appeared at Amazon.com earlier in the day. As reported earlier, the publisher's last PSP JRPG will now be released on October 4, a little over a month past its original August 30 date.
In a post at the JRPG official blog, Sol Trigger executive producer and Imageepoch CEO Ryoei Mikagei provided a clear explanation for the delay. On May 8 and May 11, Imageepoch held meetings with distributors in, respectively, Osaka and Tokyo. The various buyers expressed great interest in the product, but some suggested that because of the quantity of August 30th releases, it would be better to delay the game .
So why not some time in September? This, explained Mikage, is because distributors do their earnings in that month, making it difficult for them to budget an original game. He admitted that this doesn't have anything to do with the player, but players won't be able to even get their hands on the game if distributors don't pick it up.
To make up for the delay, Imageepoch will release a Sol Trigger demo. This will be available on PlayStation Store some time in July.

- You can skip movie scenes and speed through messages
- The game has 7th Dragon's double speed battle mode where you can hold down a button to speed through battle animations
- If you don't want to bother with the weaker enemies, you can make use of the game's auto battle system
- In an effort to reduce the steps for purchasing and equipping equipment, they've included a "Character Simultaneous Equipment Screen." Mikage didn't say what this is
- The "Sol" part of the Sol Trigger is one of the game's main systems. We'll get details on that in Mikage's next column next week
