It’s another RPG at the top this week as EA’s new IP, ‘Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning’, goes straight in at No1. The last new IP to reach No1 was Dead Island back in week 37 2011 but you have to go all the way back to week 12 2000 with the first Pokemon game, Pokemon Red, to find an original RPG at the top!
It’s also the first game from independent developer 39 Studios (owned by baseball player Curt Schilling) in co-operation with subsidiary Big Huge Games.

Last week’s No1, Square Enix’s ‘Final Fantasy XIII-2’ (-54%), therefore has to settle for second place ahead of another new entry, Take 2’s sequel ‘The Darkness II’, in at No3.

Last week’s No2 ‘Metal Gear Solid HD Collection’ (-49%) has slipped down to No4 followed by two EA titles at No5 and No6 with ‘FIFA 12’ (-19%) ahead of ‘Battlefield 3’ (-29%).

Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’ (-10%) stays rooted at No7 and Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed: Revelations’ (-28%) has fallen down two places to No8.

Rounding off the Top 10 we have another RPG that has been at No1 with Bethesda’s ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ (-27%) at No9 and ‘Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games’ (+145%) has raced up the charts from No31 to No10 thanks to the release of the 3DS version.

We have a couple of new entries making it into the Top 40 with Deep Silver’s ‘Catherine’ at No 20 and EA’s ‘Grand Slam Tennis 2’ at No26.

Bene Kingdom of Amalur. Buono Darkness. Per certi giochi, mi stupisce la differenza della prestazione tra PS3 e 360. Ancora adesso
Decente esordio per Mario & Sonic. Questo vende a lungo raga. Questo sì.
Revelations E adesso, arriveranno tutti i caini ( Billy ) a parlare della necessità da parte di Capcom di una versione PS360VitaWiiUPCTostapane etc.etc. Tra l'altro, è poco fuori la top 40, dato che è ancora nella top 40 multi che include solo i giochi full priced.

Comunque c'è anche da dire che le posizioni in chart sono poco indicative dei numeri finali.Mercenaries non si è proprio visto,eppure grazie al SOTTOBOSCO(cit.) qualcosa ha fatto

Ma ripeto,non sono certo titoli come questi che possono reggere il 3DS in occidente,ed infatti vediamo che mario kart sempre lì sta

Questo anche perchè in Occidente, in generale, i giochi sono beeeeeen più long seller che in Giappone. Mi spiego: molti giochi in Giappone concentrano le vendite nella prima settimana, tipo il 50% delle vendite è al debutto. In USA ed Europa, è diverso, ma nettamente. Poi, ovviamente, ci sono giochi come i Mario & co. che hanno gambe ben diverse rispetto agli altri giochi.

...No, aspè, io sto parlando di giochi per TUTTE le console. Non solo per portatili. In Occidente, molti titoli per ogni console noto hanno vendite ben più diluite nel tempo. In Giappone c'è una ben maggiore tendenza a comprare al lancio. In America e in Europa c'è, ma le vendite dopo il lancio sono ben maggiori. Poi, spesso, col DS abbiamo visto a gambe anche maggiori per i vari giochi, gambe al di fuori delle chart, e credo che vedremo un fenomeno simile ripetersi anche col 3DS, anche se non so in quale entità, dipenderà ( le gambe dipendono dal fatto che in Occidente le portatili sono viste in modo "inferiore", quindi non c'è la fregola di comprare subito i giochi per la console ), ma stavo parlando in generale.
