La regia è stata affidata a Nispel.

ShockTillYouDrop.com reports that Marcus Nispel is reteaming with Platinum Dunes to direct the new Friday the 13th movie, written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.

Nispel directed 2003's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. Shannon and Swift previously penned 2003's successful Freddy vs. Jason.

Shooting on the New Line and Paramount/MTV project is expected to start soon.

Un remake di uno degli horror più stupidi di sempre? Beh, se si impegnasse, Nispel riuscirebbe anche a tirar fuori qualcosa di buono.

Guarda, ad Hollywood già si stanno muovendo e tra un po il concetto di remake non esisterà più.
Stanno per far uscire un remake (ma chiamarlo così è inopportuno) di The Orphange o El Orfanato, un film spagnolo prodotto da Del Toro sul quale ho aperto un topic. Perchè ho detto inopportuno? Perchè il film non è ancora uscito da nessuna parte, e già è in cantiere la versione americana!!
Ormai la prossima mossa di Hollywood sarà di far uscire in contemporanea, se non prima, una propria versione di qualsiasi film straniero sia in cantiere.

Per dovere di cronaca, comunque, vi informo che si parla di "new Friday the 13th movie". Probabilmente sarà un Prequel come si vociferava, o qualcos'altro, ma non dovrebbe essere un remake.

After speaking to a source close to the project who wishes to stay outside of the spotlight (for now), we're striking the former term out of future reports on the film.

"It's not a remake," says our insider. Don't even expect an origin tale - as some production listings around Hollywood are pegging it as. Imagine if there was a story to be told somewhere between parts two and four, just add water (from Camp Crystal Lake, duh), insert a leaner, meaner, faster Jason Voorhees, set to "blend" and you've got the recipe for what Dunes, writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift and director Marcus Nispel got cookin'.

Derek Mears, who recently starred in The Hills Have Eyes 2 and has done stunts for the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films and the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, will reportedly play Jason Voorhees in New Line Cinema and Platinum Dunes' new Friday the 13th movie.

Ken Kirzinger last suited up and strapped on the Voorhees hockey mask in Freddy vs. Jason.

To be directed by Marcus Nispel from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the film, starring Jared Padalecki ("Supernatural"), is scheduled for a release on February 13, 2009.
